Prashant Phuyal, and his two friends, Aavinab Shah and Jeevan Risal, who not only graduated but also lived together, always discussed starting a new business. partners launched Wrapsy on January 1, 2022. As they shared an interest and passion in the same field, they eventually decided to start Wrapsy on January 1, 2022.
The three friends wanted to give Wrapsy a shot because they already knew graphic design and were interested in business. Their curiosity and interest drew them into this line of work. "We began researching because we had no idea how or what to do. All of the phone skin information came from one of the other phone skin companies. We were doing marketing on commission for that company," Phuyal explains.
They then began posting their products on Tiktok after gathering as much information on phone skin. The response was surprisingly positive as it was something new for the viewers. They were able to capture the attention of customers in a short period of time and began receiving a large number of orders within a few days.
As they began the business in their own room, it was really difficult at first. It quickly became popular because it was unique for young people. Even though it was only an online shop, they started to see a healthy market for wraps and received a lot of orders in a short time.
Adding further Phuyal, coordinator of Wrapsy says, "The wrap designs we make for our customers are all customized. I always get ideas for the designs from the internet. After that, I look at it to see if I like it, and if I do, I convert it into a mobile wrap."
According to him, even though it is a mobile accessory, it is also fashionable and trendy. People enjoy decorating their phones with mobile skins, particularly the youth and its sales are increasing on a monthly basis. They've always wanted to be number one in Nepal, and he believes they're getting close.
“People who are familiar with Wrapsy believe that the product's name itself is Wrapsy. We've also noticed that other businesses are naming their products after us. As a result, it has become a product name in general, rather than just our brand name. And I think it is a tremendous honor for us, and we are making progress,” he adds.
Everyone has their own ideas about what they want to buy and where they want to buy their phone skin, Phuyal shares. Some people prefer to use a phone cover, while others prefer to use a phone skin. "I think it also depends on the age group", he opines.
Explaining more about Wrapsy, he adds, “Wrapsy is designed for youths who enjoy experimenting and exploring new things, and it makes their phone look interesting and good. People who are protective of their phones and use hard phone covers, while others order phone skins from our store. In general, both types of people can use phone skin; it just depends on the individual.”
Some people do not even use a phone cover. Phone skins give people the impression that they are not using a phone cover, the phone size remains unchanged, and it looks good as well.
Phuyal and the team intend to expand their operations. Furthermore, they also intend to address the issue of how to use the wrap, as many customers are struggling doing so on their own.
