An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 on the Richter scale hit the Andaman Sea on Friday, the National Center for Seismology informed.
The tremors struck at 12.07 pm on Friday.
According to NCS, the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 10 km.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.3, Occurred on 18-08-2023, 12:07:36 IST, Lat: 9.43 & Long: 94.20, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Andaman Sea," the NCS posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Earlier, on Thursday afternoon, an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 had struck Meghalaya's Nongpoh.
The tremor struck at a depth of 10 km, west-southwest of Nongpoh.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occured at 2.36 pm.
