The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson on Monday confirmed that at least one person had died as a result of the Omicron variant in the UK. Earlier, British Health Secretary Sajid Javid had said that 10 people from Omicron were in the hospital. The hospital had warned that the death toll could rise. A total of 54,661 new coronavirus cases were reported in the UK yesterday, bringing the total to 10.9 million, according to official figures released on Monday.
