The COVID-19 death rate in Banke has significantly dropped in the past 12 hours. The district-based health facilities have reported four deaths overnight and they all are from outside the district. Prior to this, this figure was around 15 to 17.
The District Covid Crisis Management Center’s resource person Tej Oli said the majority of people hospitalised here for COVID-19 and succumbing to the virus are from outside the district. So far, Banke reports 288 COVID-19 deaths within the district and 279 from outside the district.
The latest deceased are from Dang, Bardiya, and Salyan. They are a 42-year-old woman from Tulsipur Sub Metropolis-4 in Dang, a 42-year-old male from Basgadhi Municipality -3 in Bardiya, a 61-year-old male from Bagchaur Municipality-8 in Salyan, and a 58-year-old woman from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-5 in Bardiya, it is said.
