In order to get government services in Baitadi, which borders India, one has to be fully vaccinated. As the risk of coronavirus increases, it has become mandatory to carry a vaccination card against corona in order to receive services from government offices in the district.
As per the directive of the Home Ministry, the government will start from February 21 to get the service. Information Officer of the District Administration Office, Khagendra Bharti, informed that the citizens have been required to carry the vaccine card with full amount of compulsory vaccination. He said, "The vaccine card has been made mandatory to reduce the risk of corona infection and to make the vaccine accessible to all,". The District Covid Crisis Management Center has also been requested to manage isolation cells at every local level after the new variant of coronavirus, Omicron, spread rapidly.
The Dasharathchanda Municipality has been requested to construct district level isolation in the district headquarters. It is also urged to maintain social distance. Chief of the district hospital, Dr. Vasant Raj Joshi, said that the health standards must be followed as the risk of coronavirus remains high.
Meanwhile, a corona test is being conducted on all the citizens entering Nepal by setting up a health desk at Jhulaghat on the border with India saying that a new variant may spread. Chief of the health office, Yogesh Prasad Bhat, said that corona testing has been started for the citizens returning from Jhulaghat. So far, 19 people have died of corona infection in the district.
