After the schools had to be closed abruptly due to extreme cold, there has been a problem in vaccinating the children of the hilly district with Moderna. However, a solution has been found in order to overcome this issue.
Chief District Officer Vijayakumari Prasai informed that arrangements have been made for the health workers to reach the tuition classes and give them moderna vaccine as there are no children in the school. "Jumla has received 13,000 moderna vaccines for children under the age of 18," she said. "Till today, 7,000 children have been vaccinated."
Prasai said that she had visited Mahavaipatarkhola School in Hima village on Tuesday and returned after understanding the situation.
According to Prasai, locals have been advised to light fires and wear warm clothes by storing firewood at various intersections in Jumla as it is still snowing on Wednesday. The snowfall has affected the functioning of government offices.
