An aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will be flying to China today to bring Vero Cell vaccines to the country. According to the Logistic Management Section of the Department of Health Services, the concerned flight will be bringing back eight lakh doses of the vaccines.
Karishma Shrestha, Spokesperson of Nepal Airlines Corporation, said the flight will be departing to China from Tribhuvan International Airport at 11 pm today. She added the flight will return to Kathmandu with the vaccines on Thursday at 2:05 pm. Similarly, another aircraft will be flying to China on Thursday at 11 pm to get another lot of the vaccines and return on Friday, she said.
Upendra Dhungana, chief of the Logistic Management Section at the Department of Health Services, stated that based on the country’s vaccination campaign and the capacity of the aircraft eight lakh doses of Vero Cell vaccines will be brought via this flight.
The Logistic Management Section of the Department of Health Services has mentioned that NAC will be conducting another flight to China this week to bring eight lakh more doses of the vaccine. Nepal will thus be receiving 16 lakh doses of Vero Cell this week. The vaccines which arrive now will be sent to Province 1, Sudurpaschim Province and Karnali Province where the vaccination campaign has not been held in a full-fledged manner.
