Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has inaugurated the vaccination drive of the Janssen vaccines against COVID-19 today. The vaccines were gifted by the United States government through the COVAX facility of the United Nations.
PM Deuba inaugurated the vaccination drive by handing over the vaccines to the health workers at Khagendra Navajeevan Kendra in Jorpati. Ambassador of the United States to Nepal, Randy Berry, was also present during the inauguration.
The Janssen vaccines, which are manufactured by American pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson, are single-dose vaccines. The United States has gifted Nepal more than 1.5 million doses of the vaccine.
