A special vaccination campaign for children is going to start in Lalitpur. Dr. Arjun Prasad Sapkota, head of the health office informed that it was decided to conduct a two-day special vaccination program for children under the age of five who missed the regular vaccination as per the decision of the District Complete Vaccination Coordinating Committee meeting held today at the initiative of the District Health Office.
"The District Complete Vaccination Coordinating Committee meeting held at the Health Office on Wednesday has decided to conduct the vaccination campaign on May 15 and 31", said Chief Dr. Sapkota, "Children under five years of age who missed regular vaccination will be sent to all government health institutions in the district and 71 wards of all six municipalities. Arrangements have been made for vaccination from the vaccination center.”
Chief District Officer Jayanarayan Acharya said that it has been decided to mobilize all the mechanisms of the district to cover all the children who missed vaccination due to various reasons in a two-day special campaign. "If children are exempted from vaccination, various diseases may return, that's why we need to spread the word and make the ward aware", Prajia Acharya said.
Parthamani Neupane, officer of the health office, informed that Patan Hospital will have a special booth for two days for the special vaccination program. "The meeting has made arrangements to put posters and banners on vehicles to make sure that no one misses the vaccination program. We have moved forward according to the decision to complete the vaccination campaign by effectively mobilizing ward volunteers of the municipality", said officer Neupane, "All the children who missed vaccination in the past We are expecting everyone's support to vaccinate, we will organize the program in a new way."
Lalitpur was declared a fully vaccinated district on 14th Baisakh 2074. Neupane said that the health workers conduct a household survey every year in March for the complete vaccination program in the district. He said that people's representatives, government employees, health workers, army, police, intellectuals and other people from all levels will be supported to successfully complete the vaccination campaign.
