A study is to be conducted on the sexual and reproductive rights of HIV infected women from the indigenous nationalities community.
The Suruwat Community Care and Rehabilitation Centre at Jhaukhel, Changunarayan Municipality-3 is commissioning the study in 22 districts of the country. The study is being conducted with the support of Communities Alliance and Network (CAN), Canada.
The study to be started next week will include HIV-infected women between 16 to 45 years of age in the 22 districts covering the seven provinces, and the mountainous, hilly and Terai regions.
Suruwat's executive chief Rajesh Didiya said although there have been many studies in the field of HIV/AIDS in Nepal, no such study is carried out so far covering the indigenous nationalities.
