District Hospital, Kalikot has been facing a drinking water shortage after locals obstructed the source of the water supply.
The District Hospital supplied the drinking water with its source located at the zero point of Khandachakra Municipality-1.
Officiating Health Service Manager of the Hospital, Dr Sanket Bishwokarma, said the facility had its own drinking water tank, but it has been facing a drinking water crisis after some people illegally installed pipe in the tank and siphoned off water to their personal residences.
He mentioned, "Disrupting drinking water supply to sensitive areas like hospitals is an illegal move. We will be compelled to go for legal action if the problem is not resolved immediately."
Patients and health workers have been facing an acute shortage of drinking water for the past few days, shared Bishwokarma. He also warned of resorting to legal measures if the pipelines were not removed within three days. The service delivery from the hospital has been adversely affected due to a supply break.
The problem is further aggravated by scorching heat in recent days.
