Waling jeep accident update: Death toll rises to 14

The death toll has risen to 14 when a jeep carrying voters crashed at Waling-14 Arkhalbas in Syangja this morning. According to Rabindra Khanal, Police Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Syangja, 14 persons were killed when a jeep (Ga 2 Cha 3026) heading towards Tiwari Shop from Sikhre of Waling-14 fell off the road at Panchamool Arkhalbas.

The deceased have been identified as Maya Pun, 63, Praveen Kunwar, 9, Kuldeep Kunwar, 50, Demkumari Kunwar, 50, Hari Kumari Kunwar, 86, Tekkala Kunwar, 50, Jamuna Kunwar, 25, and Bhim Kala, 70. The deceased have been identified as Kunwar, 70-year-old Muwakumari Kunwar, 43-year-old Potkumari Kunwar, 43-year-old Januka Kunwar, 42-year-old Gyandali Kunwar, 50-year-old Meena Kunwar and Fuldevi Kunwar.

According to Police Spokesperson Khanal, the injured have been identified as Belmaya Kunwar, driver of Bhul Bahadur Kunwar, Gaumati Thapa, Gyanmaya Kunwar, Saraswati Kunwar, Kavita Kunwar, Anish Kunwar, Kushal Kunwar, Jamakali Kunwar, Kaushal Kunwar and Sita Kunwar. . All of them are in critical condition. All of them have been sent to Gandaki Medical College, Pokhara for further treatment.

Netra Bahadur Kunwar, 55, of the same place is undergoing treatment at Waling as his condition is moderate. Voting is going on at the Tiwari shop. The entire village is now in mourning after the death of many people from the same village who were coming to cast their votes at the same polling station.
