The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Monday reported 141 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 276,980.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 58 new cases of coronavirus infection — 50 in Kathmandu, seven in Lalitpur and one in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. A total of 42 males and 24 females have been reported to be detected with the coronavirus infection in the valley.
As many as 82 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 272,612 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Monday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.4 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has remained at 3,024 with no death reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,341 active cases in Nepal.
More than 127.06 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,907,634 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 12:17 pm on Monday, March 29, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
