As many as 85 people have died and 44 others have gone missing in the monsoon-induced disasters across the country since June 14.
Likewise, 5,500 people affected by the floods and landslides were rescued to safety, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA).
Seventy districts have been affected by the incidents, said Hum Kala Pandey, chief of the Disaster Management Division under the MoHA while making public the data on disasters at the disaster management meeting on Friday. Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand had chaired the meeting.
On Friday alone, three persons died and three others went missing in the floods that occurred in different parts of the country.
At least 400 people affected by the floods were evacuated to safety. It has been reported that 19 houses were damaged. Likewise, the cost for the reconstruction of infrastructures damaged by natural disasters in 38 districts has been estimated at Rs 1.1 billion.
More than 29 roads were damaged in the disasters. Kailali, Nawalparasi, Kanchanpur, Dang, Rautahat, Rupandehi, Mahottari, Kapilvastu, Chitwan, Sindhuli, Khotang, Sindhuli and Bajura are among the districts most affected by the disasters.
Meanwhile, Minister Khand directed the authorities concerned to expedite the search and rescue efforts for the victims and prompt repairs of damaged roads. He also directed all security agencies and concerned authorities for the evacuation and relief distributions to around 400 families hit by floods.
Also present at the meeting were officials from Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the Department of Roads and the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
