Various institutions including academies have begun celebrating National Unity Day from today. Nepal Academy, Academy of Fine Arts, Academy of Music and Drama, and Cultural Association have jointly launched the three-day celebration.
On the first day, an exhibition of books was organized on the premises of Nepal Academy. Chancellor Ganga Prasad Uprety informed that the book exhibition would run for a week.
Similarly, the Academy of Fine Arts organized an exhibition of fine arts as part of the celebration on Sunday. Academy Chancellor Kanchha Kumar Karmacharya informed that the exhibition was a week-long program. There are 134 creations.
The creations in the exhibition are focused on unity. Many reflect the message of national unity spread by Prithvi Narayan Shah.
A discussion is scheduled for Monday on the role of Prithvi Narayan Shah in the unification of Nepal. Similarly, a cultural pageant and garlanding of the statue of Prithvi Narayan Shah will be organized.
