An agreement has been reached between the government and the protesting teachers. Six points were agreed upon between the government and the protesting Nepal Teachers' Federation at the Ministry of Home Affairs at Singhdarbar on Friday afternoon.
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha's Press Adviser Kamal Giri informed that a 6-point memorandum of understanding has been signed between the government and teachers.
The talks were held under the leadership of Home Minister Shrestha. Minister of Education Ashok Rai, Minister of Law Dhanraj Gurung, Secretary of Education Suresh Adhikari along with Secretaries of Ministry of Home, Finance and Law are participating in the talks.
Earlier on Thursday, there was a two-stage discussion between the government and the teachers. The Nepal Teachers' Federation is protesting against the bill made to amend and unify the school education laws with 18 points demands.
