The Nepali army has set a world record by playing 555 Nepali original Baja madal at one time. On the occasion of Maha Shivratri and Army Day, the Nepalese representative of the Guinness Book of World handed over the certificate of the record set by the Army to Army Chief Prabhuram Sharma in a ceremony organized at Sainik Manch Tundikhel today.
On the occasion of the 260th anniversary of the establishment of the organization, the Nepalese representative of the organization, Sagar Katuwal, handed over the certificate for setting the world record by ringing the number of medals on the 4th of February in Tundikhel today.
Madal is considered to be one of the most widely used
instruments in Nepali society. Madal is taken as a common instrument adopted by all castes and communities in various festivals like Dashain, Tihar, Sakranti, Deusi, Bhailo, Jatra, and other original Nepali festivals.
Sagar Katuwal, the representative of Nepal of the Guinness Book of World Records, informed that the certificate of the record set by the army medalists gathered from all over the country was handed over.
He said, "It was a new and first attempt to promote Nepal's original Baja Madal, the army completed it. We have collected the record set by a large number of people playing different rhythms at the same time in the world record.
When the Madal is played, a wave of music moves in the heart of every person. The special identity associated with our culture is Baja Madal.

army has succeeded in making Nepal known around the world as the madal is the number one instrument in the list of widely used instruments in the country. He said that he worked as part of the team to verify the record set by the army.
