The 'Seventh Bhaktapur Industrial, Cultural, Tourism and Trade Fair' started on Thursday. The fair was organized on the occasion of New Year 2080 BS and Bisket Jatra.
Inaugurating the fair, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr Beduram Bhusal said that we should focus on the production of Nepal's traditional and unique agricultural products.
He argued that our unique productions should be prioritized to make a robust economy and ensure a healthy life.
On the occasion, Minister Bhusal asked the organisers of the fair not to miss the products of Bhaktapur district. Unique productions like Juju Dhau should not be missed in the fair and such products should be encouraged, according to Minister Bhusal.
Likewise, Minister Bhusal expressed his concerns to the reduced agricultural productions despite the engagement of a huge population in the agriculture sector adding that this has lagged the nation behind.
We should ensure more production to reduce our dependence on exports, he said.
Similarly, Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur, Khagendra Prasad Rijal, urged all to participate in the fair in a peaceful manner like in the previous years and stated that sale and distribution of liquor is banned during the period of fair to complete the Biska: Jatra in a peaceful way.
The fair will continue till April 16, according to the organiser.
