Police have arrested the chairperson and secretary of Rahsal Children's Orphanage in Ilam on the charge of committing rape. Chief of the District Police Office, Mahendra Shrestha, said that Secretary Kavindra Rai was arrested after a complaint was lodged against him for raping an orphaned girl. It is said that Rai was an employee working in Rai Nepal Electricity Office in Ilam.
According to Police Chief Shrestha, Chairman of the same orphanage Rajendra Chauhan has also been arrested. It is said that he was arrested for investigation after allegations were made against him. Rai was arrested on Thursday and the court is extending his term. Though it is said that allegations have been leveled against Chauhan, the police say that it is not possible to disclose the allegations.
