A new health post building has been constructed in Dharapani of Dhaulagiri Village Municipality-7 of Myagdi. The building has been constructed by Good Neighbors International Nepal and the Village Municipality at a total cost of Rs. 35 lakh 19 thousand and 837.
Secretary of the Consumers' Committee Ganesh Khatri said that Village Municipality has provided Rs. 2.6 million and Good Neighbors International Nepal Rs. 8.39 million for the construction of the building. "Dharapani Kathmandu Society has invested Rs 10,000, Dharapani Magar Association Rs 25,000 and Creative Himali Youth Club Rs 10,000," he said.
The health post was established in Dharapani in January, 2020 after the residents were unable to reach the ward level health post. The health post was operated from the building of the then Dhaulagiri Basic School, which was integrated into Kisani High School. Ward Chairman Kalanidhi Subedi said that 350 households of Dharapani have benefited from the health post.
"After the construction of the building, the service of the health post has become easier," he said.
With the financial and technical support of Good Neighbors International Nepal, which helped in the construction of the building, an integrated community development project has been operating in Dhaulagiri since 2016 and in Malika village through Sangam Myagdi and Kadam Myagdi since 2021. Sangam has conducted activities including education, income generation and child rights and child protection. Kadam Myagdi is conducting health and sanitation related activities.
