A three-day discussion is going to be held here with the aim of holding deliberations on various aspects of Maithili history, language, literature, and art.
Bimarsha Foundation is hosting the event titled 'Bimarsh Ek Deep Chetanak' from coming June 9 to 11. The rich history and present situation of Janakpur, the contemporary landscape of Maithili literature, politics, and women's issues will be discussed while poetry symposiums and literary and cultural evenings will be held during the event, said the Chairperson of the Foundation Biva Jha.
The program is estimated to cost around Rs. 1.2 million and will be organized without seeking funds of any donor or organizations, said Shyamnath Jha of partner organization, NepotivTiles,.
Writer Ramesh Ranjan Jha expressed his belief that the event would help promote and advance the Maithili language, the most spoken language after Nepali, its literature, philosophy, and culture.
Maithili Development Fund President Jeevnath Chaudhary sought support of all to celebrate the event as a festival of Maithili literature.
