Kageshwari Manohara Municipality has demanded to upgrade Kandaghari Metropolitan Police Division in Ward No. 7. In a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Krishna Hari Thapa said that the lack of manpower in wards 7, 8, and 9 of the municipality, which has half the population of 133,000, has affected the peace and security. In the letter, it has been demanded to increase the manpower led by the police inspector.
Locals and social worker Prakash Jung Rayamajhi said that there was a problem in maintaining peace and security as the limited manpower could not even patrol due to the dense and unorganized settlement. Understanding the letter, Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey expressed his commitment to helping maintain peace and security by immediately adding manpower. A police division was established under the leadership of Rayamajhi with the objective of maintaining law and order in the area.
After the establishment of Nageshwar Temple as an ancient heritage site in this place, a police division has been established in coordination with the Department of Archeology for its protection. Devotees throng the temple on Mondays, Saturdays, and various festivals.
