It has been observed that the incidence of dengue disease caused by mosquito bites is increasing in the district. According to the district health office, the dengue infection that was seen in Panchkhaal about a month ago has now been confirmed in nine people from three local levels.

According to the head of the office, Dr Purushottam Sedhain, dengue infection has been found in three local levels of the district so far. "In a period of about one month, nine people have been infected with dengue disease, we are on a mission to search and destroy the source of the disease", Sedhain said.

Out of the nine infected, three are from Dhulikhel in Kavrepalanchok, two from Panauti and one from Banepa. Similarly, there is one from Dolakha and two from Sindhupalchok. Sedhai said that the condition of the infected person being treated in Kathmandu is serious and they are kept in the ICU.

Meanwhile, the district health office and the city's health team are monitoring the source of dengue infection at the local level. In addition, the office said that treatment and other activities have been increased while keeping infected under surveillance. "We are also seriously investigating the cases of dengue infection in Sadarmukam Dhulikhel and other places", Sedhain said.

After the first dengue infection was observed in Panchkhal, awareness was started about its symptoms and prevention measures and health workers were asked to be on 'high alert'. In order to prevent dengue infection from becoming an epidemic, the rapid team of the office will conduct monitoring and possible testing at all three locations in Kavrepalanchok.

In addition, a plan has been made to mobilize teams with anti-dengue insects in all health institutions in the district. In Kavrepalanchok earlier in August 2019 dengue infection was seen in 6 people. Sudden onset of high fever and the fever lasts for five to seven days, unbearable headache, pain in the eyeballs and the back, pain in the back, joints and muscles, body aches and nausea, stomach ache, bleeding from the nose or gums, blood clots on the body. The appearance and symptoms of fainting are seen. If proper treatment is not received on time, the patient may even die.
