Dengue patients have started increasing in Makwanpur. District Health Office Makwanpur has informed that while the number of corona infection patients is increasing, the number of dengue cases caused by mosquito bites is increasing too.
Lakshman Ghimire, information officer of the office, said that 28 people fell ill with dengue infection on the 15th day of Shrawan. It is said that patients of the disease have been seen in Hetauda sub-metropolitan city-4 and 5.
Among the 10 local levels of Makwanpur, Hetauda sub-metropolitan city has the highest number of patients with the disease. Sporadic outbreaks of the disease have occurred at other local levels. Information officer Ghimire said that it is a big problem to find that number of patients in 15 days, so vigilance, security and awareness are necessary. He said that the infected are from Hetauda Ward No. 4 and 5 and they are being treated.
The data on the treatment in some private hospitals is yet to come. According to the office, in the same period of the current financial year, one person in the district has been infected with kala-azar, while 9 people in Hetauda have been infected with scrotyphus. Last year, 295 people fell ill due to dengue infection.
