Tedros Adhanom Gebreius, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), praised the Government of Nepal for its effective management of the vaccine campaign against the coronavirus epidemic.
He praised Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for such effective work, saying that almost everyone has been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
During a courtesy call on Prime Minister Deuba today, Dr. Tedros said that the strategy of the Government of Nepal has been effective in controlling and preventing cowardice, said Govinda Pariyar, Press Chief of the Prime Minister.
On the occasion, Dr. Tedros also thanked the Government of Nepal for initiating vaccination against typhoid in South Asia. He also lauded Nepal's progress in various health indicators, including reducing child and maternal mortality in a short period of time.
During the courtesy call held at the PM's residence in Baluwatar today, Prime Minister Deuba informed that the government has launched various programs to make the health service more effective. The Prime Minister also thanked the World Health Organization (WHO) for its support in the field of health, including COVID-19 control.
Prime Minister Deuba also expressed the view that the Government of Nepal was ready to cooperate on issues including capacity building of Nepali health workers and multilateral partnership in the field of health.
