Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that education is inevitable for overall development of an individual.
Inaugurating the three-day education conference organized by Janata Secondary School at Bardibas-3 in Mahottari on Thursday, the Deputy Prime Minister said that education serves not only for better livelihood but also should educate to internalize the importance of humankind.
Shrestha said that education should highlight the human values, conscience and human duties though we have been focusing more on commercial education lately.
More focus on livelihood and emphasis only on moneymaking will not bode well for our wish to good-governance, according to the Deputy Prime Minister.
"Our need is country's prosperity and for this development and good-governance is inevitable. Honesty is needed to achieve this. Our education should infuse honesty on people," Shrestha added.
On separate context, Shrestha said that the country would work further seriously to ensure the sense of good-governance by fighting against corruption.
