Helicopters are being prepared to rescue a father-son duo of Papung in Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-5 of Taplejung, who have been trapped in snow for four days.
Ward Chairman Dandu Sherpa informed that they are preparing to send a Mountain Air helicopter to rescue the trapped people. Lakpatansi Sherpa, 55, and his son Pasang Sherpa, 15, were reported being trapped in the snow for four days.
According to Ward Chairman Sherpa, they had found shelter in the avalanche after heavy snowfall. Lakpatansi Sherpa, who was trapped in the snow, called on Saturday morning and requested to send a helicopter, said Ward Chairman Sherpa.
Police and locals rushed to the scene on Friday to rescue them, but had to return mid-way road due to heavy snowfall.
