The proposal seeking cut down on expenses of high offices and ministries has been rejected by two-thirds.
In today's meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), the majority rejected the proposal on reduction of expenses related to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the Office of the Vice-President and various ministries under the Appropriation Bill-2080 BS.
A total of 27 parliamentarians had presented the proposal seeking cut down on the expenses while parliamentarian Dr Amaresh Kumar Singh took back his proposal. Dr Singh withdrew the expenditure cut down proposal related to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Office of the Vice-President.
Parliamentarian Prem Suwal, representing 25 other parliamentarians, presented the proposal.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire then presented the proposal for decision making which was rejected by the majority.
