The number of patients at the district hospital in Humla, a high-altitude mountainous district, has increased in the last few days. It is said that the number of patients with cold and flu has increased in the hospital after the temperature dropped almost 7 degrees below zero.
Senior Anami Sarita Bohara of the district hospital informed that more than 60 people visit the district hospital daily for treatment. He said that he used to reach the district from the village for treatment of fever, cold, and asthma. According to him, the beds in the district hospital have become full after the patients came for treatment. There are also patients with sore throats, body aches, and symptoms of not wanting to eat.
The hospital has stated that such problem is more prevalent among children and the elderly. Some patients with critical health conditions have been admitted to the hospital.
