Police arrested a man on the charge of killing his wife in Belbari Municipality-7, Morang district, on Saturday morning.
The arrested has been identified as Ambika Ghimire (56) and the deceased as his wife Sita Ghimire (48).
According to Morang District Police Office (DPO), the Ghimire couple had engaged in a heated argument before retiring for the bed. However, the man who was intoxicated sprang up around midnight and struck his wife with a wooden stick that killed her. After the incident, Ghimire fled the scene.
During the investigation, security personnel deployed from the Belbari-based Area Police Office (APO) apprehended Ghimire from Belbari-7.
Meanwhile, he has been charged with a murder case while investigation is underway, informed the DPO.
