Basic laboratory service has been started at Piple Health Post in Raghuganga Gaonpalika-3 of Myagdi.
The village municipality has brought targeted services to Beg, Bhagwati, Piple Dagnam, Chimkhola and Kuine residents. Dr. Santosh Bohora informed that the laboratory will test blood, urine, sputum, corona antigen, SIV and hepatitis. "Blood and urine tests have made it easier to diagnose and treat the disease," he said. Earlier, they used to go to Beni district headquarters for laboratory services. Local Ramesh Singh Thakuri said that it would save time and money to travel to the district headquarters.
The Chairman of the village municipality, Bhav Bahadur Bhandari, informed that the equipment and manpower have been managed to make the laboratory service in Piple and Pakhapani smooth this year. "We have demanded the central and state governments to build a hospital in Piple," he said.
Chairman Bhandari informed that apart from the health posts of eight wards, eight more community health units have been set up in the slums. In order to make the added services within the village municipality people-friendly, people's representatives, employees, doctors, nurses, health workers and other social personalities were requested to help in the effective operation of the laboratory services by spreading awareness and informing each other.
