Labour Minister Shrestha meets Human Resources Minister of Malaysia

Minister for Labour, Employment, and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha, who is on a visit to Malaysia, met with the Human Resources Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

In the meeting, the duo offered their commitments to further consolidate mutual relations between Nepal and Malaysia while appreciating Nepali migrant workers in Malaysia, which they viewed, have helped in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.

The meeting also focused on effectively implementing the memorandum of understandings struck in 2018 between the two countries, providing additional job opportunities to Nepali youths aspiring for employment in Malaysia with zero costs by making them skilled. Even the provisions of health, social security, and social welfare for Nepali citizens in Malaysia and effective management of their insurance policy twenty-four hours a day, among others featured during the meeting, according to the Nepali Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

It was also discussed to hear and address problems facing Nepali migrant workers there while making them aware of their rights and duties.

On the occasion, Minister Shrestha expressed his gratitude to the Government of Malaysia for providing Nepali migrant workers job opportunities and urged it to focus on the increase of their salaries, social security, welfare, and their medical treatment, said the Embassy.
