A Martyr's Garden is being built in Deuralidanda, Kathekhola Village Municipality-1 in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the People's War. The construction of the park has gained momentum with the investment of the ward. About Rs 1.5 million has been spent on the park so far, said Ward Chairman Khadka Bahadur Thapa.

The annual budget has been allocated for the park from FY 2074-2075. Ward Chairman Thapa said that the construction of the park took time as it could not raise much investment at once. In the current fiscal year, only Rs. 200,000 has been allocated to the park. Ward Chairman Thapa said that the plan for the park would be completed as soon as possible by mobilizing resources.

"It seems that it will take more time to build all the structures of the park," he said. Currently, a garden is being constructed in an area of two ropanis. Structures including concrete fence, entrance, resting place have been constructed.

The big lord's tree in the middle of the garden has been preserved in a fundamental way. According to Min Bahadur Thapa, chairman of the park construction committee, there is a plan to keep statues of six martyrs during the People's War. Structures such as auditoriums, archives, gardens, and fireplaces are yet to be constructed.

The objective is to develop Deurali Danda as a tourist park, said Chairman Min Bahadur. The religious/cultural beliefs of the locals are also connected to the hill. It is believed that worship should not be held in Deurali without offering flowers during the annual Bali Puja. Artistic forms of rock can also be seen in Deurali.

The ward has stated that it will take initiative to bring a budget for the park from the state and federal governments in the coming fiscal year. "We are planning to build the park in a way that reflects the tourist and cultural significance. We are confident that it will be a destination for foreign visitors as it is close to the district headquarters," he said.

Minister for Tourism, Industry, Commerce, and Supplies of Gandaki Manibhadra Sharma Kandel had also pledged to help in the construction of the park during the release of the book 'Pala Darpan'.
