The Legislative Management Committee under the National Assembly has drawn the government's attention towards 'non-implementation' of directives of parliamentary committees.
In the Committee meeting held on Friday, lawmakers complained that directives of the parliamentary committees remained ignored. They were presenting their views during discussions on a study report about the monitoring and assessment of the implementation of directives and submissions of parliamentary committees-2080 BS.
The Committee had formed a sub-committee to assess the implementation status of parliamentary committees.
As lawmakers said, during the study, it was found the government was apathetic towards the enforcements of instructions and submissions of parliamentary committees.
According to Committee President Jayanti Devi Rai, they will be further studying to determine measures to encourage the implementation of directives.
Dr Bimala Rai Poudyal, Narayan Dutta Mishra, Khimlal Devkota, Taraman Swar and Bhairab Sundar Shrestha presented an idea of activating an investigation unit at the Parliament Secretariat to study further on the implementation of directives.
