The national flag-carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has entered the 64th year of its establishment. Established on July 1, 1958, NAC has significant contribution in promotion of national identity despite limited means and resources and facing various ups and downs.
The contribution of NAC either playing the role of a friend at different times of disasters faced by country or during the earthquake and blockade is memorable. It has now given continuity to its services including through medical chartered flights and rescue flight even during COVID-19 pandemic.
Extending best wishes on the establishment day of NAC, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the NAC has played remarkable role to promoting national identity by providing maximum service using its means and resources, including the human resources.
Prime Minister Oli expressed the belief that the NAC would make its role broader along with new concept, not limiting its performance and service delivery to traditional form.
He wished that the NAC would become successful to fulfil national aspiration making its service trustworthy and transparent through its activeness and praiseworthy activities like it had shown during COVID-19 pandemic.
Similarly, Tourism Minister Leelanath Shrestha and Tourism Secretary Yadav Prasad Koirala stressed the need of making NAC service more reliable and effective.
NAC General Manager, Dim Prakash Poudel, mentioned that the NAC has focused its attention to maintain its glorious credit by maintaining professionalism, transparency and maximum utilisation of technology.
The NAC has now two wide-body and two narrow-body aircraft for operating international flights to and from nine destinations including three of India.
