The 24th national conference of Kirat Yakthung Chumlung, an umbrella organization of the Limbu Community of the country, is going to be held in Chitwan from February 19.
There would be the participation of 288 representatives from 13 districts in the conference, according to General Secretary of Chumlung, Niranti Tumbapo.
He shared that the conference would determine a one-year policy and program, passing organizational and progress reports as well as a financial report.
Discussion would be held on various issues including the conservation of historic places and making the list of cultural heritages.
Chumlung Vice-Chair Kamal Limbu said as per the Census-2078, the population of Limbu is more than 387,000 in the country. The organization was established in 2046 BS to preserve the language and culture of the Kirati people.
