The aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation has brought additional 800,000 doses of the Vero Cell vaccine from Beijing today.
Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, Deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, informed that the wide-body plane of the Nepal Airlines Corporation carrying 800,000 doses of Vero Cell landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2:15 pm.
He said the same national flag carrier aircraft will fly to Beijing today itself and return tomorrow afternoon carrying the Vero Cell vaccines manufactured by Sinopharm, China's state-owned firm.
As per the schedule, the aircraft will again fly to Beijing on Saturday to bring the additional vaccines.
The government of Nepal has purchased 4 million doses of Vero Cell from China on a Government to Government basis.
Earlier, over 800,000 doses of Vero Cell were brought by the NAC aircraft. The NAC will be bringing 1.6 million doses of vaccines in the next two cargo flights.
