Hari Bahadur Mahat, chief of Hetauda Sub-metropolis-11, has inaugurated the newly constructed full-sized statue of Lord Buddha and Buddha Park on the bank of Rapti River on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti.
Lal Shrestha, a social worker living in Hetauda Sub-metropolis-11, has built a full-sized statue of the Buddha at his own expense. Hetauda Sub-metropolis has recently constructed Buddha Park at the same place at a cost of Rs. 1.8 million.
On the occasion, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan Chief Hari Bahadur Mahat expressed concern over the possibility of religious violence in the future if the leaders of the political parties do not reflect on the need to assimilate the divine teachings of the Buddha.
Meanwhile, devotees of Buddhism have been worshiping at Buddha Vihar in wards 4, 5, 6, 9, 10 and 12 of Hetauda Sub-metropolis since this morning.
