The government is going to count people with hemophilia in the national census-2078 BS.
Hemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder in which blood does not clot properly.
People with this condition will be mentioned in the 10th number under the people with disabilities in the upcoming census. So far, there are 750 people identified with this rare disorder caused by a lack of blood clotting factors.
Specialist Dr Bishes Poudel shared that there were an estimated 3,500 people with this condition in Nepal.
In a press conference here today, the general-secretary of Hemophilia Society of Nepal Bikalpa Neupane urged the government not to leave anyone behind with this condition in the upcoming census.
The 12th census is going to be held from November 11 to November 25 this year, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.
