Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said art, literature and music are the country's invaluable treasures.

Releasing two poetic anthologies of former ambassador Prativa Rana in Kathmandu on Saturday, the PM said society and country are incomplete in absence of literature, music and arts. So, the government is carrying out different activities through the establishment of academies for the development of these sectors, the PM added.

Likewise, PM Deuba recalled that the Nepali language, literature and literary writings have grown mature compared to the past. "Powerful creations in fiction, poetry, travelogue, critique and other genres have started. Nepali literature should be made more advanced and polished to make it competitive with the international writings," Deuba argued.

Asking the literary figures to work for the development of Nepali literature, PM Deuba assured them of the best possible support on behalf of the government for the same.

Good literature inspires an individual, widens perception and helps make life meaningful, according to the PM.

On the occasion, the PM expressed satisfaction with the rising number of women writers amid the male-dominated literary club in the country.

He also said he got to know about Rana's artistic writings just today though she was a well-known political and social personality.

Critics Prof Dr Gyanu Pandey and Ram Lohani also shared their observations of Rana's literary writing.

Similarly, writer Rana said the anthology composed of her poems was written in her early 20s and they cover issues such as love, natural beauties, celestial creations and others.
