Purbakhola Rural Municipality in the Palpa district has decided to take responsibility for the education of parentless children.
Newly-elected Chairman of Purbakhola Rural Municipality Nun Bahadur Thapa said the local government would extend support for such students to ensure an appropriate education.
During a media brief on Thursday, Thapa said his five-year tenure would be focused on bringing about remarkable changes in education. Thapa was re-elected for the post of chairman for the second term in the recently held local level election.
Chairman Thapa has argued that the quality of community schools should be upgraded and the students should be imparted equal education.
"In the next five years, the parents and children here will realise changes in the academic sector here. Achievements in science and technology, human resource development and education development would be made," Thapa announced.
