Voting will resume on Monday at Bhagwati Secondary School, Khaneta Center, Simta Gaonpalika-1 of Surkhet.
The postponed polling will be held on Monday from 7 am to 5 pm on Friday due to tension over the discovery of ballot papers without the signature of the polling officer.
Election Officer Narayan Sapkota informed that the Chief Election Officer and the staff including the polling officer from the Provincial Election Office and the necessary materials including ballot papers would arrive at the polling station today. After the re-polling, the previously appointed polling officer and other election staff were also removed.
Similarly, the District Election Security Coordinating Committee is preparing to send additional security personnel. There are 839 voters in the polling station in East Surkhet. The counting of votes has not started in Simta village municipality as the polling has been postponed.
