Seven people who were believed to have gone missing from Jalajala highlands in Jajarkot are found safe. They had gone to the alpine meadow in Jaljala on Tuesday for grazing their livestock.
According to the police, a group of seven individuals who went to the area for cattle grazing was out of contact.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhu Kumar Thapa said police were searching for them with the help of locals and they were found only this morning.
They are Dil Bahadur Khadka, Bikram Khadka, Chandra Khadka, Bhavindra Khadka, Mim Khadka, and Dhansara Khadka of Kushe rural municipality-8 and Krishna Rokaya of Kushe rural municipality-9. They looked physically weak due to hunger and cold and were given primary treatment, food, and other care.
The incident was reported to the police only on Wednesday morning and the rescue team was mobilised immediately. It is said the members of the rescue team have reached up to Bhainsiodar on the way to Jaljala but have fallen ill due to altitude sickness. It is five hours trek from there to reach Jaljala, according to locals. Jaljala is at an altitude of 4,800 metres above sea level.
