KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecasted that rain and snowfall will occur across most parts of the country starting today evening due to a westerly disturbance.
In a special bulletin about winter rain, the Department mentioned that the westerly low-pressure system would lead to partly to generally cloudy conditions nationwide from Friday evening.
The Department also noted that the high hilly and mountainous areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, as well as some parts of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces, could experience light to moderate snowfall from Friday afternoon to Saturday.
In addition, light rain is expected in other parts of the country. The Department has warned that temperatures could drop further with the onset of this new weather pattern.
