Nepali Congress Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that all the supporting countries should be viewed from the same point of view. Speaking to reporters today in Chitwan, he said the approach to the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) should be similar to that of other countries.

He says changing the way we look at cooperation with other countries and the way we look at the MCC will create imbalances in foreign relations. He said, "Accepting aid on the basis of different criteria for each country would lead to imbalance in foreign relations and endanger the country." He argues that the issue of MCC should be passed by the parliament without any confusion. He added, “MCC has so far had the participation of parties in the government. It is based on the interests of Nepal."

Leader Mahat said that it was the responsibility of the speaker to bring proposals brought by the government in the parliament to the table. He said, "It is not the responsibility of the Speaker to submit this proposal to the Parliament. I will not do it." He said that the issue would be resolved through discussion in the parliament.

Speaking on a different occasion, he said that the convention would be held on February 25 in 16 districts where the Congress convention was suspended. He said that the conventions which were earlier stopped due to Covid-19 would now be held on the scheduled date.

Asked whether there would be an alliance in the local elections, he said there was no time to discuss the issue now. He said, "The issue of alliance will be discussed when the time comes." He informed that the issue of alliance would be decided only after the parties discuss according to their needs. He said the coalition would be decided on the basis of benefits.
