Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the local level should work to win the hearts of the people.
Laying the foundation stone of the administrative office building at Sundaraharaicha Municipality-8 Salakpur today, he said, "People's representatives should work according to the aspirations of the people as the foundation of federalism is at the local level."
Expressing his best wishes for the prosperity of the municipality, which has ample potential for the development of industry, tourism and agriculture, Prime Minister Deuba said that systematic urbanization was the need of the hour and everyone should pay attention to it. Stating that the federal government will manage additional budget to complete the physical infrastructure under construction, he stressed on the need for proper development of the tourist destination here.
Stating that the government is committed to hold the local elections in a clean, dignified, fair and fearless environment, Prime Minister Deuba said that the cooperation and cooperation of all is needed to hold the elections on time. He said that the task of holding the election was the responsibility of the Election Commission, adding that the government would only assist the commission for the election. Prime Minister Deuba also said that the government would help in setting up a medical college at Eastern University.
The perpetrators of the Letang incident will be prosecuted
Prime Minister Deuba has directed the concerned body to investigate the murder of a policeman in Letang Municipality of Morang and bring the culprit to book.
Urmila Shrestha, a female police officer, was killed in an attack by an angry mob during an all-party discussion on Sunday on the issue of sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl by a teacher at Kheruwa-based Shiksha Vikas Mavic. The mob stabbed him in the neck and chest.
Manoj Poudel, a 56-year-old social studies teacher in Kheruwa, had tried to sexually abuse a 12-year-old girl in class 6 during a Holi game.
On the occasion, MPs Gopi Bahadur Achhami, Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi and Bhanubhakta Dhakal drew the government's attention to the issues of public interest in the region.
Chief of Sundaraharaicha Municipality Shiva Prasad Dhakal informed that the administrative office building would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 270 million on a four bigha one kattha land area. He also demanded that there should be a medical college in the Eastern University, which was established almost three decades ago.
Deputy Chief Dhanmaya Tamang said that the beauty and social harmony of the municipality is strong as people of mixed communities and religions live in the municipality.
Similarly, Prime Minister Deuba today inaugurated the newly constructed Municipal Hospital at Sundaraharaicha Municipality-1.
On the occasion, Mayor Dhakal said that the people of the region would benefit a lot from the 35-bed hospital, adding that the hospital was constructed as per the standards of the Government of Nepal.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba also felicitated the landlords and various dignitaries who have done incomparable work for the hospital.
