Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed the need for all to be committed to organising coming local level elections in a free and fair manner.
"Now, the country is getting local level election around the corner. All should be committed to creating an environment to organise the poll in a free and fair manner," said the PM while inaugurating the newly constructed building for Temal Rural Municipality at Pokhari Narayansthan in the district on Saturday.
There is a need for people's representatives to ensure impartiality, quality, accountability and people's ownership in their work delivery, PM Deuba underscored. Stating that the main responsibility of the local government is to deliver its service in a fast, easy and impartial way, he said, "It should fulfil its responsibility and ensure ownership to people by carrying out its duties as per their expectations and spirit despite limited resources."
Prior to this, PM Deuba inaugurated the newly constructed infrastructures for Swayambhu and Buddha monasteries in the rural municipality.
The newly constructed building for the rural municipality cost Rs 46 million, said the rural municipality Chair Salam Singh Tamang.
