The power generation of some hydropower projects has been stopped due to last year's floods and landslides. Electricity production has been stopped all day today. These powerhouses will be shut down from 6 am to 6 pm today.

NEA has informed that the line for hanging wires in the new tower constructed in the place of the tower of Madhyamsryandi-Marsyangdi 132 KV double circuit transmission line has been shut down. After the transmission line is shut down, power generation from the powerhouse connected to the line will be stopped automatically.

The landslide had demolished Tower No. 9 at Majhigaun, Raina's Municipality-8 of Lamjung under the Mid-Marsyangdi-Marsyangdi transmission line. NEA brought the transmission line into operation on 18 July last year by connecting Emergency Rehabilitation System (ERS). Now a new tower has been constructed at the place. The ERS will be removed on Sunday and wires will be hung on the new tower. For this, the transmission line will be shut down. This will also shut down the electricity generated from the hydropower plants connected to this transmission line.

Electricity to consumers through alternative arrangements

NEA will supply electricity to the consumers by making alternative arrangements after the production of about 150 MW is stopped. Export of electricity to India will also be less than other days as power generation from Mid-March will be stopped on Sunday. Today, only about 200 MW of electricity will be exported on Sunday.
