With just a few days to go before the local elections, the leaders of the major parties are rushing to address the election.
Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will address the election meeting to be held in Dhangadhi on May 9 and in the home district Dadeldhura on May 10.
Chairman of the CPN (UML) and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is going to address the election meeting to be held in Kailali and Kanchanpur today, said Narad Muni Rana, leader of the party and member of the House of Representatives. Oli is scheduled to address election rallies to be organized by UML in Dhangadhi, Bardagoria of Kailali and Belauri, the old headquarters of Kanchanpur.
Nepali Congress central member Dr Araju Rana Deuba has reached Dadeldhura on Wednesday after participating in separate election rallies organized by the ruling coalition in Kailali's Lamkichuha, Tikapur and Godavari municipalities. The ruling Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have coordinated the election in the chiefs and deputy chiefs of 13 municipalities of Kailali.
In the case of ward level candidates, there is no coordination between these parties. The UML and other parties have given their candidacies alone. Congress and UCPN (M) cadres have given independent candidacies at some levels, disagreeing with the coordination made at the Palika level.
