Uniformity to be brought disaster management

A small hut has been constructed on one side of Dhulikhel Stadium. Some are seen cleaning around the hut, some are playing music and dancing and some are riding bicycles. Suddenly, a fire broke out in a corner hut while two people were chopping wood.

In the other hut next to it, the same flame is found and other huts start burning. One person appears to have been injured in the blaze. After extinguishing the fire, a team of security personnel arrived and took control of the fire. The injured were rescued and taken to a health facility for treatment.

This was the scene of a joint pre-preparedness exercise for disaster management mitigation demonstrated at the stadium in Dhulikhel Municipality-7 of Kavrepalanchok. The exercise, jointly organized by the Nepal Army's Kalijung Battalion, District Police Office, Panchkhal-based Armed Police Force No. 15 Battalion and Nepal Red Cross Society Banepa Branch, has conveyed a message to the public to be vigilant and behave in times of disaster. .

According to Anish Banskota, Deputy Colonel of the Kalijang Battalion, demonstrations were held on how to manage the disaster in coordination with the security forces, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Red Cross and other stakeholders.

In the first phase, fire control demonstration, in the second phase, rescue of people trapped inside the house during earthquake and how to reduce the risk of gas leakage were demonstrated. Dhulikhel Municipality Chief Ashok Banju said that He said that coordination among the security forces was necessary.

 He said that not only the local government but also the three levels of government need to work together for this and disaster relief materials should be delivered to all the wards and tolls. He stressed on the need to be vigilant. Materials used in disaster management were displayed on the occasion.
